Acupressure is a technique that belongs to one of the branches of traditional Chinese medicine. This practice aims to circulate the energies and relieve pain by stimulating the functioning of the internal organs through pressure on specific points (hands, soles of the feet, and some areas of the face).

According to traditional Chinese medicine, stimulating these parts of the body creates an energetic relationship with the inside of our body, through vital channels, nerves, veins or arteries. Thus, by intervening in these places, you can feel results in other parts of your body or on your vital organs.

A deep massage on a specific point allows the stimulation of the pressure points. Ideally, deep pressure should be applied with the fingertips or with the knuckles.

The duration of the massages varies between 2 and 5 minutes (according to the resistance of your body); you can do it again up to 3 times a day. It is important not to do more because you could overstimulate an energetic conduit or an organ and cause damage to the nerves, due to excessive pressure.

 

GB20 points or Feng shuiacupressure

The stimulation of GB20 points or Feng Chi helps to soothe headaches, migraines, blurred vision due to fatigue, asthenia. It can also help the first symptoms of the flu.

These points are at the base of the skull and on both sides of the spine. It is recommended to massage these areas using both thumbs. The pressure exerted should cause a feeling of traction.

The Hoku Pointacupressure

Point Stimulation (L14) or Hoku, helps to calm the discomfort caused by stress, facial pain, headaches, mandible (or tooth) aches and tension in the neck.

This point is in the arc between thumb and forefinger. It is necessary to exert a great push to feel delivered. For a headache, you can put pressure via massage for more than 5 minutes, until the pain starts to disappear.

Tai Chong Pointacupressure

Point Stimulation (LV3) or Tai Chong, helps to reduce symptoms of stress, low back pain, lumbago, high blood pressure, insomnia, and anxiety.

It is located in your foot about two finger widths. This time, the massage should be exercised lightly, in small circles, because the bones of this part of the body are fragile.

Zu San Li Pointacupressure

Finally, point stimulation (ST36) or Zu San Li, is recommended to relieve gastrointestinal problems. These problems include nausea, vomiting, poor digestion or stomach upset. This point also activates the functions of the immunological system. Intervention in this area can help prevent virus spread and strengthen natural defenses.

Now you know what acupressure is, and what points can help you relieve pain and prevent illness. So you can use it as a tool to stay healthy and avoid going too often to the doctor or taking drugs load
