Let’s keep the natural money-saving cycle going. Last month I shared that I saved money by purchasing activated charcoal. With that money, I purchased more ingredients to make an all-around health tonic. I made my first batch last month, not expecting to have any cause to use it so soon. However, I was glad to have it on hand. My husband came down with a virus and the first thing I did was give him some of this tonic.
The tonic doesn’t have the best flavor, so I fully expected him to resent that I gave it to him. After drinking some of it once, however, he became a firm believer in its health benefits. His comment to my son was, “I don’t know what your mother put in it, but this stuff kicked the bug’s butt.” I had him drink more of it twice a day for the next five days. He was back to work after missing only one day. My son caught the same virus and missed four days of work. Needless to say, I thought I’d better make several gallons of tonic to have on hand for the whole family.
After purchasing enough apple cider vinegar, jalapenos, ginger root, horseradish root, and white onions to make two gallons, I spent less than $20.00 which is well worth it when you have a faster recovery and miss less work. And this is a prime example of the natural money-saving cycle.
