Have you ever found a great little restaurant by accident? That’s exactly what happened the other day while my family and I were out at Crown Center in Kansas City. It was lunchtime, so we decided to give the Crayola Cafe a try as it appeared kid friendly.
Color me impressed
For starters, the service was fantastic, and it was an even bigger, not to mention better, surprise to see the menu. The cafe serves local, all-natural, hormone-free meat products, and they list all the suppliers on the menu.
Once we placed our order, the kids started in coloring their placemats with the crayon sets provided at each place setting. The open atmosphere and bright colors were also a bonus. It didn’t take long for our order to cook. The waiter was so pleasant, as was the cook.
Our garden salad looked absolutely delicious, and a hamburger off the kid’s menu was big enough for two people. We also ordered the mini, all-beef corn dogs for our picky eater and they were a hit. I ordered the turkey burger topped with provolone and avocado. Again, the servings were large and they tasted amazing.
It was so nice to be able to eat out at a kid-friendly restaurant that serves food made with natural products. On top of that, I honestly can’t say enough good things about the staff.
Case in point: while shopping later that same day, the chef happened to walk past us and stopped to ask how our meal was and if we were having a good day.
With this in mind, I can say without hesitation that if you’re looking for a pleasant dining experience with your children in the Kansas City area, definitely stop by the Crayola Cafe at Crown Center.
