This raw, vegan, organic, wheat-free cafe in North Vancouver is adorable. Cafe by Tao, located at 131 West Esplanade, had plenty of space for seating. The water had floating pieces of raspberry and mint in it, and water glasses are little canning jars.
I was thoroughly charmed. Did I take any pictures? No, because I inhaled my food. Here is a picture someone else took though:
This wild rice salad was delicious. Tangy, interesting, and affordable ($10). Well, cheap in comparison to what I’ve paid other places.
What really got me going though was the desserts. I had the Mesquite, “a legume with high protein content, caramel-like flavor, a banana cashew layer and a walnut crust.” It was so good I turned to my mom and said, “We have to learn how to make this.” The only drawback is the piece was as long as my index finger.
GIVE ME MORE CAKE.
