Have I Ever Been Normal?
I never thought of myself as that way. I always had to go against the flow. To me it was much more interesting to go against the grain; you just gain more experience that way. People used to say I was an “old soul,” wise beyond my years.
Things that other people did just didn’t interest me. What the Jones’ kids had or did; I couldn’t have cared less. And to this day I still don’t flock to what everyone else does, I RUN from it.
As a child, I was always coming down with something that made me feel horrible. One time I was so sick that my Ma had to take me to the E.R. They tried everything to get me to take aspirin or cough syrup, anything to help me. I wouldn’t do it. Well, I ended up taking medication in the end, literally. As an adult that hasn’t changed, my doctors know not to ask me if I want any medication for anything.

Commercials are so weird; I usually turn them off. That’s including print ads and billboards. When I say ‘off’ I mean I no longer pay attention to them. It seems as though the products or services that we are being shown the “benefits” of are usually more detrimental to our well-being and health than anything we are seeking relief from in purchasing them.
Companies want you to buy, buy, BUY! So, they think of the next best way to get you to do that. Be it; slightly raising the volume, using persuasive language, bright lights, and colors, or using puppies and children to get you to try their newest widget. There are even stores that will sell it to you cheaper than the next to get you to buy it.
But… Is it made with your best interests in mind? Ever wonder if the ingredients were a good quality? I have many times.
Ding! I think I’m Done.
I can’t remember the exact moment I made the decision to go natural and start my natural journey. It could have been when I decided to “Loc” my hair because I hate using hair products. Or maybe it was when I found out what fluoride really does to our systems after consuming it for several years. Perhaps it was all of the combined observation of my Ma wasting away from several health conditions/medic
I had to change something, so it all started with my toothpaste. I started making my own. Then I wanted to try making deodorant, so I did. Now I look for alternative ways of doing almost everything, the natural way.
Whatever my reasons were for beginning this journey, I’m glad they led me here. AND, I get to share it with others. Sharing is caring.
