A simple kitchen oven is a luxury so many average Americans take for granted on a daily basis. And yet, we find it incredibly difficult to keep our ovens clean!
The day I moved into my apartment and used the oven, the smoke alarm went off. I swear, the previous tenant hadn’t cleaned it in years. Or maybe ever. I borrowed some borax from my neighbor and scrubbed until I got tired of scrubbing.
While mine doesn’t look spotless, it’s significantly cleaner than it was before and the mysterious smell wafting through my apartment only on warm days has also disappeared. Whew.
