What can I say? Eating out is one of the hardest parts of going organic, especially if you are a vegetarian and/or gluten-free. I found this restaurant, The Rabbit Hole, when I touched down to Southern California, and I was elated. The name is definitely cute, but the decor was even cuter. Of course, if you haven’t guessed it, the theme is Alice and Wonderland. Below are a few pictures I took, so you can really get the feel of the place.
The Rabbit Hole
The restaurant is 90% organic and completely non-GMO. The food was fresh and delicious. Although it is a vegetarian/vegan restaurant, the meals were filling and satisfying. The prices were decent, about $10-15 per person.
The farm fresh egg sandwich I had, with fresh cheddar cheese and gluten-free toast was just awesome. I also came back and tried the BLT Portobello Mushroom Sandwich with Brie cheese and that was just sublime. I think I ate about four of those sandwiches in one week.
Another great touch to this place is that their drinking water is alkalized, which is always nice and the atmosphere is truly peaceful and comfortable. The service was great and they definitely make you feel welcome, wanting to come back for more. This is a place I would recommend to someone who loves to eat American favorites with a vegetarian/vegan twist!
