People often don’t like to admit that there are things which they are not familiar with. Some are not even interested in learning about the unknown. And many feel as if there is nothing that can be done when faced with certain difficulties. However, there are people that do search for solutions and, eventually, they are the ones that emerge as winners.
Modern living pushes us to fulfill desires such as a successful career, happy marriage, solid friendships, good health, and happiness. Often, we give priority to these parts of life at the expense of others. Trying to find balance and live more cheerfully.
The ones who are brave and persistent enough, manage to cope with the rapid rhythm of life. They compose a happy melody through which they dance all their lives. On the other hand, there are people weaker spiritually. They need more effort and guidelines for changing the state of their mind. For reaching a nice rhythm in life.
When we talk about a happy life, we are talking about an emotional aspect that cannot be easily seen. We strive to achieve a sense of success that will not only last for the moment but throughout our whole lifetime.
By changing everyday habits and practicing following simple guidelines, your body can be better healed physically. Which will, in turn, contribute to creating an inner sense of happiness.
1. Eat a Proper and Healthy Diet
Healthy and balanced nutrition is essential for everyone. Especially for children, to help develop good eating habits from an early age. Food is the only source of energy for the human body. It is also needed for all life functions and in the growth and development of all life stages.
Therefore, the link between food, health, and happiness is undeniable. An Australian study involving more than 12,000 people showed that happiness and environmental satisfaction are increased by eating more fruit and vegetables.
The same result was apparent in a study involving Iranian students. According to the results, the happiest participants shared the same eating habits. On the whole, they ate breakfast every day and more than 8 snacks that included fruits or vegetables.
We all know that eating healthy has physical benefits, but it also reflects on mental health. It contributes to making us both healthier and happier.
2. Get a Pleasant and Proper Sleep
Sleep plays an important role in creating a healthy and happy life. The of the way you feel when you are awake depends partly on the quality of your sleeping routine.
Research has shown that sleeping impacts learning as well. It affects your brain and helps it generate and remember new information the next day. Namely, a person who does not sleep sufficiently cannot focus their attention and therefore cannot learn effectively. In addition, dreaming has a major impact on memory recovery, which is an essential part of learning.
The National Herat, Lung and Blood Institute speaks about the importance of sleeping and the benefit of the overall physical health. According to them, sleep regulates hormone balance in the body. Which prevents physical problems like obesity and reduces the risk of heart disease, renal disease, high blood pressure or stroke.
3. Meditate to Control Unwanted Thoughts.
Meditation contributes to daily joy and happiness if it is applied regularly and in the right way. Through meditation, you will be able to master different breathing techniques. These are a powerful means for removing stress and controlling your brain and bad thoughts.
With proper meditation, you can learn to master your concentration skills. Also through various exercises in meditation, the mind flooded with thoughts is lead to a state of rest and deep peace.
In the era of technology, research has shown that many mobile apps are a source of unhappiness among young people. Fortunately, there are applications like Insight Timer, Omvana, and Jinglow designed for peace and tranquility of the mind. These together with meditation, can deepen the sense of happiness.
4. Exercise for Physical Fitness
Physical activity is fundamental for everyone. It is important and crucial when it comes to physical health. The benefits of physical activity include reducing the risk of cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and some forms of cancer. Not to mention the reduction of mental illnesses, including the effects of Alzheimer’s, stress and anxiety.
Many studies suggest that the period spent in a sitting or lying position should be minimized in order to protect our health. The time spent in exercise contributes to increasing the levels of dopamine that are needed to make us feel happier and speeds up the heartbeat that makes you less stressful and energized.
5. Always Be Commutative
Communication has been defined in more than a hundred ways. It can be verbal, non-verbal, individual, mass, interpersonal, etc.
But, except for its basic function exchange of information, it serves to improve mental and physical health as well. Communication is a method that acts therapeutically. It is a fundamental part of social relationships. Therefore, interpersonal relationships become more qualitative. We become better people, and our life becomes even more fulfilling.
