I want to address why I fight for a natural lifestyle. It is true that I am a blogger and sometimes I fear that maybe what I am doing isn’t going to make much of an impact. If you aren’t big on “opinion” or “lifestyle” pieces, no pressure! This is just my passion and I wanted to share it.
Why I live a natural lifestyle.
I fight for a natural lifestyle because I still have faith in the power of humanity. I believe in adaption. You might believe that since I am part of the “natural” lifestyle that I am against technology; in this regard, I am not. Technology has allowed many great innovations to come to fruition. I have an ultimate respect for the power of technology and the societal evolution it brings. What I question is whether we, as a society, are advanced enough to use our technology ethically.
If life is a balance then we are on the precipice. We no longer have the luxury to choose ignorance. Every day we look at the world and see the headlines screaming bad things. This person got murdered. This war continues on, etc. It seems so far removed from us that we may feel there is nothing that can be done. It’s easier to give up. It’s probably safer to give up too.
But thankfully humanity has never been one to give up.
The survival instinct runs through our souls. Self-preservation is a powerful motivator. We have become complacent. There comes a time when enough is enough. Solutions have to be found. Treating the symptoms is no longer an option. Every person has to make the changes they believe will impact the world.
But they have to start with themselves.
People must lead as an example. I must lead by example. YOU must lead by example. We have all experienced complacency in our lives. It’s the feeling where everything is fine but there is still an undercurrent of laziness or discontent. I feel that we have come to expect people to save us and in that effort, we might have forgotten how to save ourselves.
But we can get that back.
We can save our world and we can improve ourselves. All it takes is a change of habit. Anything can be accomplished with a solid vision of the future and positive habits. If I want a Playboy Bunny body I have to change my eating and exercise habits. It won’t be easy. But change is never easy, yet it is within the realm of possibility.
I will see some amazing and terrible things in my lifetime. The reason I blog and the reason I keep trying is that I am a human and humans, despite all of our faults, aim for progress. I want my child to grow up in a peaceful world (which isn’t built off of the suffering of others). Some may say that I just write for a blog and maybe they’re right. But I believe that over time small efforts will yield a bigger payoff. I believe that making a change, even a small one, even one that no one understands, is a good thing if it leads to something greater.
We now have to act like adults and save ourselves. Now we have to take responsibility for our actions. We need to be on our own side and do things which benefit us without harming others. It’s not a lost battle, a long battle, yes.
But not a lost battle
People who lead by example inspire other people. It’s easy to whine and cry about the state of the world but true humanitarians opt for change and do not live in fear. Fear is for the weak. In all honesty, we all need to change. If we all made a list of the things we want to change about ourselves we would probably have a minimum of five things.
Instead of moaning about other people fix yourself first.
We’ll be here to help you lead a natural lifestyle.
Thank you for reading and have a wonderful night!
