Step one: Cut off a large aloe leaf (or two or three. . .). Hold it upside down to let the resin drip out. Note: I didn’t do this but I wish I had.
Step two: Cut off the top and sides. Make sure you don’t get any of the icky yellow stuff because it’s an irritant.
Step three: Scoop out the gel and put it in the blender.
Step four: Add the liquid of your choice (water, juice, milk, etc.)

I don’t know about you, but when I’m looking for a recipe, I hate having to scroll down through a lot of text and pictures. So voila, recipe at the top.
Who am I? I’m a cheap and lazy writer living in the San Francisco Bay Area. Considering almost half my paycheck goes to rent, you better believe I need to find ways to cut costs! I’ve found not only is natural living the cheapest because you can do most things yourself, but it’s also good for super sensitive people like me. As in, I’m so sensitive my skin breaks out after eating GMO food, so I’m forced to have a natural and organic lifestyle. Not that I’m complaining. Too much.
So. Aloe vera juice. The other day several aloe vera leaves broke off into my hand, offering themselves up like temple sacrifices. Because I’m cheap, lazy, and resourceful (oh yeah, I’m resourceful too). I like to get the most out of everything! I decided not to compost my aloe vera leaves but to use them. After all, they sacrificed themselves for me.
Why aloe vera juice? If taken internally it alkalizes the body and aids digestion, plus a million other things.
The verdict with this recipe? I think it would have worked better if I had let the resin drip out because my aloe juice had a bitter taste to it. And I could have blended it more. My “juice” ended up being more of a gel. . .
