As a young woman I spent many years abusing my body doing gymnastics and dancing. The training was hard and rigorous. My youthful mind did not understand that the constant abuse would catch up with me in my middle age years. The arthritic pain has plagued me for a number of years, and I’ve chosen to avoid over the counter medications that can lead to other health issues. I’ve tried different ointments and remedies that gave me some relief, but never completely took the pain away. Until recently, I felt that I would just have to deal with the dull aches and pains as part of growing older.
I shared with a close friend concerning my arthritis pain in my finger, and she shared with me a remedy of old, rum soaked golden raisins. I’m always game to try a new natural cure, and purchased the rum and raisins the next day.
After soaking for a week, I tried the raisins. Mind you, I do not care for the taste of rum, so I chewed a spoonful (8-10 raisins) very quickly, followed by a glass of water. I have been doing this every morning for three weeks and I have no arthritis aches or pain. My finger that I could not bend is functioning normal.
I thought to myself, how could these little rum soaked raisins work so quickly? After all, it was only about a week until I felt total relief. So, I Googled how this might work. Golden raisins come from sultana grapes or Thompson seedless grapes, and they add sulfur dioxide to keep them golden. These grapes are high in resveratrol and catechins, which are anti-inflammatory, which could help lessen the inflammation of the joints. The sulfur dioxide used in the processing of the raisins also has anti-inflammatory properties.
I used rum in the making of my raisins, as that was my friend’s suggestion. After doing some research however, I’ve discovered that many people use gin made from juniper berries. Juniper berries are known for their anti-inflammatory properties as well. I purchased 150 proof rum alcohol. I know that when I am making tinctures and tonics I use 100 proof or more to bring out the natural healing properties of the herbs I am using.
I suppose that the rum is capable of doing the same with the raisins. I was unable to find any professionally researched documentation that indicates that rum raisins cure arthritic pain. However, I was able to find testimony after testimony that people found relief as I did.
These can be taken any time of day, if you do not want to show up at work with alcohol on your breath I would recommend taking them at night.
I hope if you choose to try this natural cure you find the relief that I have found. I always enjoy feedback to my blogs, so please let me know if you have tried this or are planning on trying this and the results.
